Our Story

Harvest began in 1990 as Calvary Temple Church; a church with a vision for people from all walks of life to get to know Christ and a desire to be a lighthouse on the Westside of Albuquerque.

Today, we are still focusing on showing and teaching our city and our state about Christ’s love for us. Our vision is everyONE matters. So no matter your who you are, where you’re from or what you’ve been through, we believe YOU are valued by God and can have a relationship with Him through His son Jesus.

Our Mission

We are devoted to city transformation and lives made new through passionate pursuit of Jesus and His teachings.

Our Beliefs

Our beliefs can be summarized in this: We believe in God, his son Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the Bible, the Salvation of Man, and the Church.
God

There is only one true God. He is the creator of the universe. He exists eternally and reveals himself as the trinity: the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. These are equal and make one God.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father. He is in the world to make mankind aware of their need of a savior–Jesus. He also lives in the body of everyone who accepts Jesus as their savior. He also gives every person saved power for life and service, as well as spiritual gifts to use in ministry. Additionally, every believer can be baptized in the Holy Spirit, which brings an overflowing of the fullness of God and intense consecration to God.

The Salvation of Man

Salvation is God’s free gift to everyone that chooses to accept it. None of us can make up for our sin by good works or self improvement. The only way to be forgiven of our sin is by acknowledging our sins, and accepting that Jesus Christ sacrifice as payment for our sins. By turning from a life of self-rule to a life of faith in Jesus we are saved. If, by faith, we receive Jesus in our life we are co-heirs of God and have hope of eternal life.

Jesus

Jesus is the son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. He is fully God and became fully man. He lived a sinless life while on Earth and gave himself up as a sacrifice to pay for the sins of ALL (yes, even you) the people. Three days after his death, he arose from the dead to demonstrate his power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and will return again someday to rule over the earth as King.

The Bible

The Bible, comprised of the Old and New Testaments, is God’s Word to us. The books, although written by human authors, were verbally inspired by God. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error and is the authoritative rule of faith and conduct.

The Church

We are directed as a people to regularly gather together for more than just a meeting, but a time to worship, equip, fellowship, and be sent to be examples to the world. This is called, "Being the Church". It is far more than just a once-a-week event, but a daily decision to live as the example Jesus sets for us. The Church, then, is the body of believers, in the world, setting the example of Jesus in their community.
