Give Your Life a Spring Cleaning

Posted on March 26, 2019 by Justin Serrano

When spring comes, many people seem to get the urge to clean. Perhaps the warmer weather and longer days of sunshine give people renewed energy to want to make their house new again. While we are busy making a list of what needs to be clean in our homes, maybe we also need to think about the clutter in our lives and take time to give them a spring cleaning as well.

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit, fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. —John 15:16 NIV

For instance, the theme verse that Pastor Jason selected this year talks about how we are to bear fruit and I believe cleaning clutter from our lives will help us to bear good fruit. Just as our homes get dirty and cluttered over time, things like work, church commitments, kid activities, and other things can clutter up our hearts and get in the way of God’s plan for us.

Are there things in your life that need to be cleaned?

To help you get started, make a checklist of each area of your life that feels chaotic, just like you would make a list of the rooms in your house that need a good cleaning. Some areas to think about may include:

  • Relationship with Jesus
  • Marriage
  • Parenting
  • Church
  • Personal Relationships
  • Health & Fitness
  • Work

But to avail a quick and long relief you should go with generic levitra pill that has been mainly reported is the long term intimacy dysfunction in males. Then think about what you can do to improve the areas on your list. Perhaps spending more time in some and less time in others. Maybe taking things off your busy schedule completely so you can spend more time with the ones you love, and more importantly, with God.

Does your heart need cleaning?

As I learned in my life group recently, our attitude can get in the way of our relationships with others. So too, can it get in the way of spending time with God. Maybe your time spent in prayer or reading the Bible has been a struggle lately and can use some cleaning. Don’t be afraid to change things up and try new things.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. —Hebrew 12:1

Finally, make time for fun!

Some of us take life too seriously, or we take ourselves too seriously. Jesus wants you to enjoy yourself and learn to have some fun. God made you for His pleasure! So think about something that brings you joy and make it happen. It can be something as simple as going to the movies or something big like a family vacation.

Just remember to include God in your spring cleaning, as well as your fun, and pray for Him to show you what needs some sprucing up in your life.

Love Jesus. Love each other. Love your city.
