Day 21 | Belief Builds Hope

January 24, 2026

SCRIPTURE:
1 Peter 1:20-21 He (Christ) was foreknown before the foundation of the world, but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you who through Him are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

DEVOTIONAL:
Christ was at the beginning. John 1:1 tells us “In the beginning was the Word. And the Word was with God and the Word was God.” Jesus Christ was the Word from the beginning of all things, before the foundation of the world. He was made manifest to us by becoming a human and living on this earth that He created. This was for our sake, that we would one day come to know who He is, and through Him, find relationship with God the Father. God’s power raised Christ from the dead and at the same time, gave glory to His Son. In this, we place our faith and find our hope. Relationship with God makes all the difference, because without this understanding of who Christ is and submission to this truth, we can’t enter into relationship with our Heavenly Father, which is what allows us to live a life overflowing with hope.

PRAYER:
Jesus, my human brain can’t grasp the beginning of time, but I believe that You were there. I believe that You chose to come to this earth, the very earth You created, as a human. I believe that You lived a sinless life, that You were crucified for my sins, and that You were buried and rose again on the third day. I believe that You then walked on this earth again before ascending into Heaven to be seated at Your Father’s right hand, and that because of all of this, I can live in relationship with my Heavenly Father. Thank You for all that You did on my behalf, for making a way where there was no way, and for allowing me to live a life full of hope in God. Thank You for being near me during this fast. As I move forward from this season, I pray that the spiritual habits I have created would move forward with me. Help me remember to make space for You, to place my hope in You, and to look to You before I look to anyone or anything else. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
