SCRIPTURE:
Lamentations 3:24-26 I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in Him!” The Lord is good to those who depend on Him, to those who search for Him. So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.
DEVOTIONAL:
How often do I get in God’s way? We are told that the Lord is good to those who depend on Him and to those who seek for Him. When I am trying to control everything in my life, that’s when I get in God’s way. Could it be that relinquishing control, as difficult as that may be, is what might make room for the Lord to work in your life? When I hand over my problems to God and ask Him to do whatever He sees best, I no longer get between God and my problem. I step aside, or maybe even step behind God, and allow Him to see to the things in my life that are beyond my ability to fix. I depend on Him and search for the ways He is at work in my life, giving Him my trust and the space to work in the way that only He can.
PRAYER:
God, help me remember that I don’t have to be in control of everything. Gently nudge me aside when I’m getting in Your way. When problems arise and I’m not finding an answer, help me remember that I can depend on You. Teach me to see Your hand at work in my life. Help me put my hope in You and wait for Your salvation in every circumstance I face.
