Arise, My Darling, My Beautiful One, Come Away With Me to the Beloved Christmas Dinner

Ladies, have you ever asked yourself, “Will I always be looking for a place to belong? Will I ever find a group of people who will love me for who I am? How hard does it have to be to find a friend or two?” I’ve asked myself these questions before.

As women, it seems like we want to belong and fit in, to find our tribe and develop friendships that will sustain us through the many seasons of life. I’ve had friends who have walked by my side for decades and friends who were here and gone in a matter of months.

It can be hard to keep putting yourself out there, to keep sharing your heart with other women when you’re unsure of how long this friendship will last. We keep investing our time and energy into relationships, not knowing if those friends will be here for the long haul or if they will be gone tomorrow. But here’s what I know: we were created for relationship.

We were not designed to live a life of solitude. We all need friends in our lives to remind us that we are not alone. We need friends to lean on when we’re feeling weak, or to share our faith when we’re strong. This type of friendship helps us to stay strong in our faith. Thankfully, Harvest has a ministry designed to meet these specific needs of women, called [Be]loved.

Pastor Lisa Dickenson says [Be]loved is designed to provide a way for women to love God, love each other and to live life as the beloved daughters of our Heavenly Father, as Solomon encourages us, “Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, come away with me” (Song of Solomon 2:10), and also reminds us, “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine” (Song of Solomon 6:3).

Harvest’s [Be]loved events provide a space where you can meet new ladies and form lasting bonds of friendship. They can also be a time to share your heart and find other ladies who share similar interests, passions and life situations or to simply have fun! Ultimately, the time we spend together is intended to lay foundations that will strengthen our lives as individuals and as a group of followers of Christ.
